yes. I'm writing a novel. Like, a freaking novel. That you buy in stores.

It's called "By the Banner and Blade: A Story of Fantasy and Ddventure"

The tagline?

"An Adventurer. A Hero. A Thief. A Vampire. A Queen.
The fate of the world lies in their hands."

The premise:
"Behold the world of Zyriun, a world of fantasy and legend.
In the ancient and noble realm of Krinvelt, jewel of the East, the wise and noble ruler, Her Majesty Lucienne Hadrias-Karyn von Krinvelt, known far and wide as the Dark Blood Queen, had perceived a looming threat to her lands. This threat was as old as time, and yet something viciously new.
To combat this threat, she called forth a council to debate the issue. The council decided a fellowship was needed to venture forth and take the fight to the enemy while Krinvelt’s army defended the people. The Queen issued a call for able bodied individuals to come forth and present themselves before her for her own consideration.

Out of the mountain wilderness of the north, beckoned by the promise of glorious battle, came the strong and aloof Hero, Garrett.

From the industrial cities of the west, beckoned by the prospect of fame and fortune, came the thrill-seeking adventurer Jake.

From Krinvelt’s own prisons was selected a thief, Qatari, who agreed to lend her particular brand of talent in exchange for a royal pardon.

From the underground cities of the South came the noble vampire Lynos, who offered his assistance to Lucienne out of admiration and respect for the young warrior queen’s ancient bloodline.

With these talented individuals, Lucienne finally had the means to save her realm. Determined to see this through to the end, she decided to lead this fellowship personally. Leaving the land she loved in the hands of her Sister, Lucienne and her fellowship boldly ventured forth to save her people from this timeless foe."


No, this is not taking the place of Halo Legacies, my unofficial sequel to the Halo saga. But I'm taking a break from my fanfics to work on something of my own mind, being this story. I'm shooting for 600 pages AT LEAST. My goal is to take a bunch of fantasy story cliches and assemble them into an original story, while giving a couple of cliches a swift flip-over as well. Yes, I fully intend to rip off several well known classics, but my intent is to piece what I rip-off together into an original combination that makes for something amusing and somewhat intelligent. Specifically, I'm trying to recreate through this novel the feeling of a simple old-school RPG story of good versus evil, a la Might and Magic.

It will be a good deal of time before I can post anything else of real substance, as not much has been written. But, at least now you guys know what I'm up to.
